Module basic configuration

The following are the set of basic options for configuring Shackslides.  The basic set includes the source from where the images and descriptions are grabbed from, and how are they presented in Shackslides.

Images Source

Sets the image source for the slides and descriptions.  It can be:

  • Folder: single images folder
  • Joomla Content: a category of content from native Joomla
  • K2 Content: a category of items from K2
  • FlexiContent Content: a category of items from FlexiContent
  • Visionary Collection: a collection of slides from Joomlashack's Visionary component

Number of Items

Defines the number of items that are going to be grabbed from the defined content (the first n items).

Folder

You can select the images folder.  It will only be considered if Folder is selected in the Images Source.

Joomla Category

You can select a Joomla Category for grabbing the images and descriptions (from the articles of that category).  It will only be considered if Joomla Content is selected in the Images Source.

K2 Content Category

You can select a K2 Category for grabbing the images and descriptions (from the items of that category).  It will only be considered if K2 Content is selected in the Images Source.  This option will not be available if K2 is not installed.

FlexiContent Category

You can select a FlexiContent Category for grabbing the images and descriptions (from the items of that category).  It will only be considered if FlexiContent Content is selected in the Images Source.  This option will not be available if FlexiContent is not installed.

Visionary Collection

You can select a Visionary Collection for grabbing the images and descriptions (from the items of that category).  It will only be considered if Visionary is selected in the Images Source.  This option will not be available if Visionary is not installed.

Slides Order

Defines the order for the slides to be presented.  You can select from:

  • Order: the predefined order of the articles/items from the selected source (usually the ordering field from the source)
  • Title: alphabetic order of the silde's titles
  • Date: published date of each slide
  • Hits: based on popularity (hits from each article/item)

This option does not apply for Folder as the Images Source.

Order Direction

You can sort the slides (according to the Slides Order) in Ascending or Descending Order.

This option does not apply for Folder as the Images Source.

Display Featured Items

You can select what to do with the featured items, selecting:

  • Exclude: only regular (not featured) articles are considered
  • Include: featured articles are considered within all the articles
  • Only featured/frontpage: only featured articles are considered as a source for slides

This option does not apply for Folder as the Images Source.
